I attended this event with people from a local audit firm. Boss’ treat! The atmosphere was a nice, somewhat classy theater vibe, with the seats arranged around tables.

Movin’ & Shakin’The first 90 minutes was for a grand buffet dinner with beef, lamb, and even turkey with apple sauce. We got a bottle of Pinotage, and enjoyed a good meal.

Movin’ & Shakin’ is a 90 minute highly energetic musical with 6 singing and dancing guys and girls. Mostly 60’s songs, some a bit reworked. Some of the lasses’ costumes were tastefully daring, which added to the feisty sexual tension that was present through the whole production.

Halfway through, desert was dished up buffet style as well, and we could pick and choose from a number of different sweet things.

It seems that The Performer Theatre has a wide range of shows and is quite popular as an evening treat or even a business lunch event. It also turns out (in a local paper) that they just last week hosted an event for a number of street children in the Hatfield/Pretoria area and presented the same show, with food, candy floss and sweets, a clown and some other entertainment. Thus a venue and a cause well worth supporting again.

Well, we all enjoyed the evening, the show and the good food. In knowing that we don’t know what our final tab was for the night, all we can say is “Thank you, Barend”.
